1(1 Lloyd E. Worner, President President Worner, the first alumnus president, came to Colorado College in I 93 8 as an undergraduate and an outstanding student and leader. He was president of the student body in 1 941-42, president of Beta Theta Pi, and permanent president of the Class of 1942. In addi- tion, he was a member of the golf team, Interfraternity Council, Red Lantern, a senior men ' s honorary society, the International Relations Club, and the History Club. Dr. Worner received his bachelor ' s degree in history from Colorado College. After doing graduate work at Princeton and the University of Missouri, he received a master ' s degree in 1944. He received his doc- torate in 1946, returning to Colorado Collegeas an instructor in history. Rising through the academic ranks to professor of history, and dean of the college in 1955, Dr. Worner was appointed president of the college in 1963. Kenneth J. Curran, Dean of the College J.
