'W QMMED KN Opening event of the inaugural-home- ing weekend was the dedication of Tay- lor Dining Hall and Loomis Hall. Mrs. Harold D. Roberts spoke about Miss Ruth Loomis and Mrs. Charles L. Tutt spoke about Mrs. Alice Bemis Taylor. Willis R. Armstrong presided at the ceremonies. Shown with the plaques are Mrs. Tutt, Mr. Armstrong, President Benezet, and Mrs. Roberts. Sue Arnold, student speaker at the de- dication, shows Mr. Armstrong the pen- dant of Miss Loomis' presented to her as first president of the new residence. The Pendant will pass to future presi- dents of Loomis Hall. Participants in Shove Chapel service of rededication included Dr. Douglas Stra- ton, dean of the chapelg Dr. Clyde A. Holbrook, of Oberlin, former chapel dean, who preached the sermon: Dr. Charles C. Mierow, former president of the college, who presided, and Dr. J. Lindsay Patton, representing the clergy of Colorado Springs. Miss Louise F. Kampf and Dr. Ellsworth G. Mason inspect the Charles H. Collins Collection presented to the library as a gift from the family of the late Charles H. Collins, LL.D..
