President Thurston J. Davies and Acting President Charlie B. Hershey PRESIDENT DAVIES Lots of us, comparatively new to C.C., have never met Presi- dent Thurston J. Davies, who is absent on leave, but not a day goes by that we do not feel his influence on campus. President Davies left Colorado College in February of 1943 for a far more important job . . . that of helping to win the war. He is now Lt. Colonel Davies of the United States Marine Corps, with head- quarters in Washington, D. C. However, soon we hope Prexy Davies will be back with us, guiding us through the trials and tribu- lations of college with his ever-present smile and his great wisdom. Until that day comes, we will try to do at C.C. what he is doing for our country ... a magnificent job. 18
