In this age of im- proved communication, the. world has been made smaller. It is imperative that we understand our neighbors. At C.H.H.S., Latin, French, and Span- ish are offered. ln these classes, the students learn about the customs and way of life of the people who speak these languages, as well as the fundamentals of grammar. The music department provides students with the rich rewards of music. The students are better able to understand music and musical in- struments through these courses. The choir and band often provide entertainment at assemblies. These classes help students to appreciate daily cul- tural achievements. Mr. Vernall directs students during a choir rehearsal.

A mathematical back- ground provides the student with a wide range of careers from which to choose. Math teachers question the students' minds and lead them to think more logically. Practice in the inath classrooms offers the opportunity to develop reasoning powers. From business math to solid geometry, trigo- nometry, and analysis, the student finds a com- plete preparation for a bright future.
