SHAGS THE CHE .RLEADERS ' SHAG The first shag of this year was held on November 2nd, and was sponsored by the Cheerleaders. The highlight of the shag was the broomstick dance, SNAP - SHOT SHAG » b y the Came ra Club, the Snap S ho t Shag was held on November 16th. The shag featured a Name the Clown contest and an imitation of Shelley Berman by Gail Forster, REMBRANDT ROJO 3 This, the third shag of the year, was held on January 18th, and S Art Glub A limb0 contest and s °ng solo were the highlights of the Rembrandt Romp, BUTTONS AND BO 3 SHAG The Buttons and Bows Shag was held Maroh 15th, Dress-Up Day. ponsored by the Newspaper Club, Glenn Cameron was the M.C. It was well attended,- those in attendance being , ell entertained by the Mr. and Mrs. I-Opener contest, limbo, twist and continental contests. SOCIALS MAD - HATTERS’ HOP The grade sevens first social was quite successful, and many prizes for skits were awarded. Mr, Stolee xvon the teacher’s trophy for a. Mad Hat , Mr Desson being runner-up. TOYLAND TROT The grade eight and nine social, sponsored by the Students ' Council, was held December 20th. The auditorium was decorated for the oooas ' on Toys were collected for the firemen. SPRING IEVER FROLIC The Spring Fever FVolic was held on May 3rd. Ihose present were presented with a variety of entertainment. Many turned out, and all enjoyed themselves, SPIRNG SUING • The last grade eight andnine social was one of the most successful this year. Decorations , refreshments, and programming were excellent Gail Forster, Marr Cunningham, and Lesle McSorley entertained those present with pantomines and piano solos 0 ASSEMBLIES: The assemblies this year were very interesting, following along with special occasions such as Christmas and Easter. The main items of interests during the year were the presentations of the Student of the Month awards. THE CALGARY SCIENCE FAIR - The second Calgary Scienoe Fair was held at Mewata Armouries. There were five entries from Colonel Irvine, two winning prizes. The Birth of an Oil Field ivon third place in its category, while a radio display took second place honors in its division.
