GOLDEN EAGLE COLONEL CRAWFORD HIGH SCHOOL NORTH ROBINSON, OHIO Jttfrcutocfimt We the Seniors of the Class of 1961 take pride and pleasure in presenting to you the first edition of the Golden Eagle. We invite you now to join with us in a picture review of our days at Colonel Crawford. We hope that through this book the memories of our school days and the moments spent with our classmates will be preserved and cherished. We wish to impress upon you not only the laughter and gaiety of the good days, but also the sighs and depression of the bad days. For these memories will be present in our hearts forever. Tho other nights and other days may find us gone our separate ways ... We will have these moments to remember.” 2 w -J 1 _ -fe  4 t THE BEGINNING AND END OF AN ERA STAFF BOARD OF EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION SENIORS JUNIORS SOPHOMORES FRESHMEN CONTENTS ACTIVITIES QPHRTQ ORGANIZATIONS SULPHUR SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL SUMMARY OF YEAR ' S EVENTS ADVERTISING 3 Chuck Bauer, Bus. BOB 51 52 53 73 73 54 VARSITY FOOTBALL When the gun went off for the start of our first regular football season, it wasn ' t apparent for the two periods of our pre¬ view game that the team had the punch that a football team desperately needs, but they came back in the next game against Green Springs with a score of 28-6. In the third and fourth games Colonel Crawford felt the meaning of the phrase experience.” 55 I ” counts” with a double beat¬ ing by Butler 56-18 and our arch- ' enemy Crestline 72-14, The fighting Colonels resounded in triplicate with thundering wins of 36-6 against Milan Mohawk, and our homecoming game against Mt. Vernon, St. Vincent. After the team once again bit the dust against Plymouth 28-14, they came back with a grand finale at Ridgedale 32-6. 56 TRACK ROW 1, COACH Gary Walker, Jim Inscho, Danny Rosebrough, John Steifel, Larry Rowlinson, Bill Hart¬ well, Paul Roe, Dan Ulmer, Junior High Coach Robert Royer; ROW 2, Dan Ulmer, Ron Palenshus, John Seif, Floyd Tacket, Don Palenshus, Ron Shumaker, Mike Jacobs, Bill Cook, Chuck Bauer, Bill Talbet. 57 COLONEL CRAWFORD OPPONENTS 79 Mohawk 40 Ridgedale 27 74 Old Fort 44 58 1 2 Butler 47 Union 41 1 2 75.8 Bellville 64.8 Crestline 58 1 2 Lexington 20.8 89 Iberia 46 Buck. We wonder how they’ve flown so fast. Life after high school will not be the same, But memories of Sulphur will always remain; For Sulphur h olds wonders both big and small And should be cherished by one and all. • Sulphur’s a school of love and pride, And we’ll always stick right by its side; For Sulphur’s a school better than all the rest, And we’ll always love Sulphur as the best.
