varsity football 1979 Is it a first down? John Iron Man Trussel The Colon Magi Football Team had somewhat of a disappointing season. But it depends on how you look at it. Considering a majority of the players were juniors who were in there learning process. The Magi's overall record was 3-6. The wins coming from Constantine, Climax-Scotts, and Sand Creek. Chris Klawinski had a fine season of 1279 yards and a single game high of 251. He was also voted most valuable player. McKelvey, Doug Ambs, Coach Percival The Colon Junior Varsity opened their season against Athens. The Magi defeated Athens by a score of 28 to 22. On their second game Colon traveled to Constantine. Where they played a tough game but in the end lost. The final score was 0-26. The season ended with the magi winning 4 out of their 8 games. It was a rough season but the team learned much that will help them having a winning season next year. 10
