Varsity Basketball Cheerleaders Front to Back: Vicki Miller. Anita Schrock. Peggy Lucas, and Deb Bonham. Not pictured: Debbie Saxman. Tuesday and Friday night games, beginning to wonder if you have any other clothes to wear besides a cheerleading uniform, poster painting, pep assembly assembling, and creating new cheers and clim-bups. Yes, you guessed it, this is a cheerleaders life ... but only half of it. Colon High School's Varsity Cheer-leading Squad worked hard to encourage enthusiasm in the team and student body. They strived for crowd participation at the basketball games and pep assemblies. During tournament time, the girls busted loose to show Colon School and their team how much spirit they possessed. Signs and streamers were used to decorate the player’s buses after the tournament games, inside and out. A breakfast of pancakes and sausage was made in honor of the basketball players by the cheerleaders, and cake or cupcakes were served to the players after each tournament game. 17
