Bottom: Judy Truckey, Kathy Nelson. Debbie McKercher. Vicki Kime, Margie Smoker, Dawn Campbell. Colon’s girls’ Junior Varsity Basketball squad had an outstanding season. They finished first in the league with an excellent 12-2 mark. At one point in their season they put together a nine game winning streak. No cuts were made at the beginning of the season, so seventeen girls competed on the squad. With such a large team much team effort and patience and individual determination is required. These young ladies demonstrated that effort. patience and determination. They improved their own skills and consequently improved the strength of the entire team—they made it a winning team. This was one of the J.V.'s most successful seasons. All of the players should be proud of their accomplishments. Congratulations on an excellent job! 19
