' The Magi, under the direction of Mr. Inman, had a rough, eight-game schedule ending with a M-A record, placing hth in the league. Through graduation the 1959 team is losing ten lettermen. They are Marty Bord- ner, Jerry Eberhard, Dick Hagelgans, Jerry Oldenburg, Tom Penrod, Bob Roach, Ray Saxman, Bob Weaver, Ron Wing, and Charles Van Deventer. The team will hold eleven lettermen: Fred Decker, Larry French, Fred Frey, David Hildebrand, Roger Decker, Bill James, Don Johnson, Tom Loudenslager, Larry Miller, Larry Roach, and Charles Smith. The top 5 scorers were Larry Miller with 75 points, Ray Saxman with 22, Bill James with lb, Fred Decker, and Craig Freeland with 12. We gained a total of ISOM yards losing 280 in penalties, and compleated 27 out of M8 passes. Our total scor- ing was IUE points while our opponents scored lOl. The Colon High School Baseball Team of 1958 had a league record of 6 wins and 1 loss. Their overall record was 8 wins and 2 losses. They had twenty lettermen and of these Coach Glazier will have thirteen returning for the 59 season. Coach Glazier's boys also were Co-Champs, with Schoolcraft, of the St. Joe Valley League. The Seniors who left our team were Roy Johnson, James Farrand, Thomas Flsher, Carl Lucas, and Jack Truckey. During the season, Roy Johnson Pitched a no-hitter against White Pigeon. Fred Decker won the batting championship with a .595 batting average.
