Text from Pages 1 - 116 of the 1952 volume:

He came to Collinwood in our 12 A Semester To know one's self is one of life's most important values. We hope that we have helped you graduates to know yourselves and to discover your own special talents and that you will live up to the many ideals set here at Collinwood. In years to come we will look bock upon our high school life and certain people will stand out like shining beacons. Among these people are our homeroom teachers. They have known us as no other teacher has. They've helped us through thick and thin, scolded us, yes, but always seeking to make that road of high school education better known to us so that we will find a happier journey on the road of life. They Have Been Friends as well as Homeroom Teachers Officers of The Class of January, 1952 Every group has its leaders; our class has many. To those four who have worked hard to secure our class's needs and desires, we of the class give grateful recognition to Peter Previte, president; John Hanson, vice-president; Marge Thompson, secretary; and Carmen Fatica, treasurer. As we have followed the path of knowledge through school, our way has been lighted by the glow from many lamps. In these halls of learning the light of education has been shed upon us from many different places. Our three curricula, technical, academic, and commercial, have provided the fuel that sets ablaze the lamps that diffuse the light of learning. We shall always remember, with gratitude, these brightly-lighted halls and the things for which they stand. Light From Many Lamps c Bill Tiedman Dance Band Club John Timperio Foreman. IVe hail thy colors, both the blue and gray, Thy spirit leads us on our upward way; And as we come to take our leave of thee, We pledge our love, our faithy and loyalty. Oh Collinwood, thy sons and daughters free; Go forth to love and serve humanity; The lessons thou hast taught in hall and field Shall be to us a bulwark and a shield; And if the years shall bear us far from thee, We’ll hold thy name in hallowed memory.
