TENACITY mw Mam The Faculty After purchasing supplies at the Ward Baking Company and the Ratter Meat Market, the teachers strolled out to Humphrey's Useless Beach. As they were entering the park they heard the Boyds singing in the Bash accompanied by the crying of a little lost Goarley named Rath. Since it was early in the afternoon the faculty jumped into their Newman bathing suits and Swicked out into the Donghtery water. As the air become Koehler they adjourned to Booth’s Eating Palace, where Miss Booth reigned as the supreme honorary chef. Mr. F. M. Carl was chosen for the position of Masters of Ceremonies. Mr. Carl, because of his experience trying to teach dumb pupils, physics, Could well appreciate a witty situation. Aside from the fact that he allowed Naujoks to be told he filled his position admirably. At the end of the meal he announced that it took a good Cook to make a big meal with only a Peck of potatoes and a Porterhouse steak. Seeing that the appetites were appeased, Mr. Carl stood up and asked for the attention of each and every member present. “As you all know, this party is ir honor of Mr. S. H. Hurt nek, who has received a raw Deal during his career. He will now be repaid by being presented with a brand-new Eastman Kodak.” Modestly Mr. Hurtuck marched forward and Neeles before his benefactors and murmured, “Thank you muchly, I mean MorleyV’ and immediately began to cry with great heart-rending sobs and wept Bahls of tears. Some one came running with Douglasses of Bopp and the hysterical man gulped them down. This big drink proved too much even for this husky man teacher and he had to be taken back to the hotel Allerton where he was staying. Miss Feniger offered to take him back in her limousine. Her chauffeur Hughes persisted in speeding all the way downtown. Upon their arrival at the hotel Miss Feniger called a doctor and Mr. Hurtuck was ordered to a hospital to a Simmons bed, where he was attended by nurse Prettss. His illness put a damper upon the spirits of the rest of that illustrious group and they all started for home. While driving home Mr. Matthias picked up a hitch-hiker, who said that he was a Carpenter and a Christiansen. After listening to him for about an hour Mr. Matthias was heard to shout, “Cowan! Get out of my machine.” So saying, he shifted his Gehres and started out for his home town, Co Zmpsville. On the way he ran out of gas and so he stopped at his friend’s house and asked, “McLennan me some money?” His friend replied, “Sorry, but I’m broke, you’ll have to go to Thompson’s for it.” At Thompson’s he found that Miss Nippell had previously borrowed all the money available. Mr. Matthias decided that life was not worth while and so went out and pushed his car home. Moral: Kindness is to do and say the kindest thing in the kindest way. Page Five
