Item Twelve: The Latin students desire to will and bequeath to Miss Rebert a volume of Latin poetry. Item Thirteen: The French students desire to will and bequeath to Miss Hotchkiss quieter study halls and classes. Item Fourteen: The German students desire to will and bequeath to Miss Krug n perfect translation. Item Fifteen: The art students desire to will and bequeath to Miss Ward students to take the place of David Mericle, William Johnson. Christine Howe, and Dorothy Ilirsch. Item Sixteen: To Mr. Yost we desire to will and bequeath five megaphones to be used in directing the future teams. Item Seventeen: To Mrs. McAncrney we wish to will and bequeath our names for use on the petition asking for new typewriters. Item Eighteen: To Miss Hawkins we will and bequeath six unbreakable needles to be used in sewing machines. Item Nineteen: To all the faculty wc desire to give all the hope and sympathy that will enable them to develop tin- I2B's as well as they have the 12A’s, although we realize that it is almost impossible. Item Twenty: To Mr. Whitney, our principal, and to the assistant principals we desire to will and bequeath those things which we have forgotten to mention if they can find them. “CONTACT” Last Will and Testament of the 1930 Class WE the January graduating class of 1930 desirous of providing for our successors do hereby and hereon make and declare this our last will and testament: Item One: We make Philip Hint president of the June 1930 graduating class our executor. Item Two: To the Tenacious 12IPs we wish to convey our dignity ami Ubiquity. Frieda Bartels, Gus Klauminxer, William Johnson, Jack Murphy, and Catherine Hand will and bequeath to the 12B’s their seats as 12A Student Councilors. Item Three: To our Alma Mater. Collinwood High School, we leave our beautiful photographs ns a perpetual reminder of our class. Item Four: Dorothy Quine, Mary Perfors, and Catherine Hand wish to bequeath their places on the Tower Staff to any one who will be able to keep up the good work. Item Five: Frieda Bartels, Phyllis Leach. Alice Norton. Robert Satkovic, Edith Rider, and Bill Johnson will and bequeath their dramatic ability to Raymond Fran .en. John Raymond, and anyone else who can use it. Item Six: Ann Weis and Marion Farinacci will and bequeath to Angie Mencini their accomplishments in singing. Item Seven: Jack Murphy, Mary Perfors, Dorothy Quine, Thane Laymon, and Alice Norton bequeath their Spotlight and Quill and Scroll places to Fern Brindley, Florence Rothenberg and Ralph Monro. Item Eight: The English students desire to will and bequeath to Mr. Myers a volume containing the lives, works and literary characteristics of the Victorian Poets. Item Nine: The math students desire to will and bequeath to Mr. Parker a class that will rate 100% in all Trig tests. “CONTACT” Winning Our Wings Unexperienced we are in the arts of safe flight As we enter the ground school of life— Hut we learn very soon that our task is not light— As wc encounter the hardships, the strife. As we work, so we gain and at last comes the day. On our first solo flight we are sent To accustom ourselves to the part wc must play And to learn what responsibilities meant. Then as pilots we strive for a goal sought by many. And we work to accomplish great things, Then emerge and receive with companions a-plenty— The honor of winning our wings. Page nineteen
