Dedication To you, Mrs. Combs, we dedicate the Pirate '64. Your inspiration to us 'and to the many students who have gone before us, during the ten years you have served as English teacher, senior sponsor, and Pirate advisor, can best be expressed in the following poem: I love you For what you are And for the good you see in me. I love you For putting your hand into my restless heart And passing over the foolish things there And bringing to light beautiful dreams - No one else had love enough to be aware. I love you Because you are helping me to make Of the lumber of my life Not a tavern, But a templeg A FRIEND Of the everyday things of life Not a drudgery, But a song. I love you For making me want to choose th e good And showing me how to be happy. You have done these things By being yourself. That is what being a friend isg After all. M. M.
