'HERE AND NOW' PLAY DISCUSSES PROBLEMS and GF TODAY'S TEENAGERS ' striking up-to-date play by David Rogers, the school's fall produc- tion, was held in the in- timate surroundings of the Greenwood Cam- pus Library. The fourth annual school play ran for two nights - November 18 and 19. The play re- volved around a group of parents, teachers and students and the problems they faced in everyday life. The director was Mr. Mark Nelson, Speech and Dramatic Arts teacher. Playwright Tennessee Williams' niece, senior Fran Wil- liams, was Student Di- rector of the play. Some of Williams' best known plays include The Glass Mena- gerie, Cat on A Hot Tin Roof, and the TV movie, The Mi- grants. When not engaged in specific learning activities, PUPS chil- dren have fun playing in the fun barrel. I five ff?-'wa i T 'T i' The little tykes get time during the day to play with the giant tinker toys. ... but some of the kids find it much more enjoyable to eat the pudding than to fingerpaint with it. PUPS GETS VALIDATION M' ji ,:, , . - - . ' : ,pd 1, , - The youngsters experiment the delicious way, by finger painting with chocolate pudding .. . A break from class participation is spent relaxing on the jungle gym. The three-year experimental PUPS program was officially validat- ed in May. During the three years it served as a pilot program funded by the Federal Government. With offi- cial validation it's now feasible for other schools to offer similar pro- grams. The PUPS program is the only one of its kind today in the United States. PUPS, called Parents Utilize Pre-Kindergarten Skills, gives par- ents, students and pre-schoolers the opportunity to learn about themselves and parenthood.
