A Fw- R , A vt ball players threw a Granite City South dummy into the bonfire, representing what our football team would and did do to the Warriors. After that, KAHOKS was lit up representing our soon- to-be victory. The array of floats, which represented the different CHS classes, began the trip at Webster and ended at the football bowl where the Kahoks went on to defeat the sX'Star Wars i cr sideithe Queen's by the Student l vw, .' ' ' V ' ' . f7 ' ' ' . 3,,jg,i'g3S5?5 lsnurr The Float includes the Horn ming Court Warriors. The Junior Class took top honors with their float, Ka- hoks Clamp their Jaws on Warriors. This is the second year that the Class of '79 clinched the first place prize. The runners up were the senior class with the theme, King Kahok, the freshman class with their float, Pur- ple Streak, and the sophomore class with the theme The Longest Yard.

N uv- 'SO .CLASS 'CLASHES' FDR FIRST Class Clash was quite surprising with the sophomores overpowering all. The juniors took second, with the seniors close behind in third place. Class Clash was begun by a series of rotating events, such as standing on a tin can while bending over to light a candle, and blowing a dixie cup along a string. The major goals set by the classes were to win the tug-of-war and build the best mummy out of toilet paper. Seniors, of course, dominated tug- of-war, while, the juniors stole the show in to build a mummy. A new fan was introduced at the Homecoming Pep Assembly. He was the Kahok who hasn't eaten since we last won the Homecoming Football Game, which was in 1974. The Football-Wrestling Cheerleaders presented a skit to You Make Me Feel Like Dancing. Ump-de-dump was the phrase used to describe the skit by Basketball-Soccer Cheerleaders. A. Ump-de-dump, yells the Basketball-Soc- cer Cheerleaders. B. Football-Wrestling Cheer- leaders make you feel like dancing. C. l'm a little bit country. D. Stafford Mr. Muscle Ga- vin gives his acceptance speech at the Home- coming Assembly. E. .lay Dowling uses body lan- guage to show off his muscles. F. The Pep Band plays on. G. Assemblies bring out the 'clown' in me. H. Seniors won first place in the annual pep chain contest. l. WOW! What a crowd! J. Chief Kahok Dennis Grodzicki demonstrates his pow- wow talent. K. Meet the new Kahok fan. L. The juniors strung together. M. Senior Karen Mer- singer blows dixie. N. We're number one! shouts the sophomores. O. Can Kathy Heydon help Steve Ray shoot for two? P. The Freshmen try to light up matters. Q. Terry Geaschel, junior, even gets on hands and knees to win in competition. 15
