GUIDANCE COUNSELS ON PROBLEMS Miss Linder The guidance staff assumes the responsibility of helping students solve the multiple problems they encounter from day to day. They combine their patience and understanding in dealing with any situation. Mrs. Rosemary McConkey, Mr. Harry Dearworth, and Mr. Edmund Phelps, sophomore, junior, and senior advisors respectively, guide students in planning their schedules and offer advice on vocational problems. A new position this year, college consultant, was taken on by Miss Margaret Linder. She keeps students well informed on all up-coming tests and provides information needed for entering college. ENGLISH TAUGHT AS PREREQUISITE English is probably the most well-known of all departments. CHS English department boasts an excellent curriculum for students. Courses the first three years deal mainly with literature and grammar. The fourth year is an elective-choice between college preparatory and business English. Along with these, a new advanced senior course has been added this year called comparative literature.
