DEDICATION TO THE CIVIC ORGANIZATION ' C ,-v 4 -. s - . so - we N, - We of the 1960-1961 Kahokian staff would like to dedicate our yearbook to a group of business- men known as the Monday Morning Coaches. These men are sincerely interested in the welfare of our students, our school, and our commun-ity. In fact, they are responsible for the intercom system at Collinsville High School which is still in use today. Originally this organization was just a group of seven of Collinsville's leading businessmen who decided to hold a small spaghetti supper to honor the high-school football team in 1947. Today its membership is well over a hundred. Its purpose is to stimulate students' interest not only in athletics but in studies as well. In the fall of each year they honor all the boys who have gone ou-t for any sport, by sponsoring an Athletic Banquet. They also hold an Honors Banquet each spring. At this event, recognition is given to the honor students who are representing each particular department, and gifts are presented to the top ten of the Senior Class. This worthy organization is definitely a credit to the community of Collinsville. So ift is wifth greaft pride and pleasure that we honor this deserving group by dedicating our 1960-1961 Kahokian to them.
