S. lightweight team of this year has shown promising ability for future great- ness in the next few years of football at dear old Collinsville. The boys have worked hard, and as a result have ended their season with only one loss. By the careful planning and extreme patience of the coaches, the light- weights soon became a well-organized team, and hoping to improve so that they might go on playing with no losses, they will continue to work as hard as possible and bring still further glory to our dear old C. T. H. S. Collinsville's Cross Country team ended their season with a record that gives full proof of their good work. Through the season Collinsville won four out of the six meets in which they had competed. In the past two years of Collinsville's Cross-Country meets they never have Cross Country finished lower than second place. Even though many of the most valuable boys are graduating, there are many others who want to get in the running, and in their ambition to do so, will continue to work hard under Coach Fletcher's guidance. The experience that they have picked up this year will help them very much as varsity mem- bers of the team next year. Coach Glen Deason has taught the lightweights to be good sports on the court as well as off the court. Height and speed were available to the lightweights, and it was used to good advantage. With determination and the fighting spirit, these players can cop higher honors for the Kaholcs. Collinsville's track team ended their season rather successfully. The team won the county championship at Roxana, and got second place at West Frankfort. Collinsville sent more of their men to the State than in any other year of our track history. Some of the boys who Track led the team through their fine season have graduated, but there are others who will try to fill their positions.
