Those of us who are called the older genera- A ' tion are making our investments in the future by at- H. H. Wilson tempting to pass on to you the knowledge and lead- ership invested in us. Whether we are administrators, leaders in the teaching field, or a parent we have a duty to perform for you. It is my opinion that the future will be greatly affected by our ability to teach and lead you, yes--but it willbe affected more by you the younger generation and your willingness to assume responsibilities, your ability to adjust to those things which are pragmatic that have been given to you, and your desire to build a better society. Today it is recognized that more than knowledge of facts is needed for a successful life or for national success. It is necessary that you have a desire to achieve that success, and the desire to achieve that success comes from the heart of the individual. You decide, in your own way, if you succeed or fail, you decide if you will live the good life or the bad. 'l'he morals, attitudes, and. work habits that you set as your standard today will have a great bearing on your success or failure in the future, and this success or failure will affect our state and nation. Be willing to assume responsibilities and believe: believe in God and in self: ask for guidance, be humble and grateful. We are staking our future on you.
