The only prerequisites for becoming a mem- STAFF ber of The Log Staff are first, to have taken jour- nalism,or to be enrolled in journalism, and second, to meet the approval of the staff from the previous year. An important award presented by The Log is the Athlete of the Year which is given to a senior boy selected by the coaching staff. His name is engraved on a plaque which is placed in the gymnasium. Lastfall the staff attended a journalism con- vention held at West Virginia University in Mor- gantown, and in the spring, the group went to Lexington, Virginia to attend the annual Southern Inter-Scholastic Press Association Convention.
