Jsww,-yi , ,f an S i EHS? is 5 K-.1 'W as it Y-7 IS CLUB Outstanding in both school and community activities is the l 3 Club of Collins High School. This organization, which is composed of scholastic honor students, has as its goals: creating enthu- siasm for scholarship, stimulating the desire to render service, promoting worthy leadership, and encouraging the development of character. ln order to become a member of the Honor Society,a student mustbea member of the senior class, must maintain a B average in all sub- jects taken, and must be approved by the faculty. Students are selected at the end of their junior year. The basis for faculty recommendation is similar to the goals of the club: scholarship, ser- vice, leadership, and character. Many activities are sponsored by the l3 club, but probably one of the most outstanding is the Bobbitt Memorial Scholarship Loan Fund. This fund was established to give an outstanding senior planning to attend college S100 toward school expenses. Another eagerly anticipated activity is the movie shown each six weeks to all honor roll students, and in addition to these activities the l3 club also sponsors an annual bridge-can- asta party, and each Christmas prepares a bas- ket for a needy family.
