We, the students of Collins High School, in order to provide for studentparticipationin school government, establish better understanding be- tween faculty and students, afford a higher re- sponsibility in citizenship and school pride, do establish this constitution. With this preamble as a guide, members of the Student Council are fully conscious of their responsibilities of both students and faculty. Because they set the ex- ample for the entire student body, members of this governing organization assume their duties with seriousness and also with enthusiasm. Many activities are sponsored by the Student Council. Even though the student body actually selects the girls by popular vote, the Council sponsors Miss Red Devil, Miss Imp, the junior and senior high Homecoming Queens, and also plans the ceremony for each girl's recognition. The annual Talent Show is another project of the Student Council. This attraction features talent from all four classes and proves popular with students and faculty members. Awards are also given by the Student Council. These include: Homecoming Chairman, Home- coming Parade Marshall,May FestivalChairman, Hi-Teen Certificates to the thirty-six boys and girls who won Hi-Teen honors for the school term. Other projects of the Council are: student elections, the move-up assembly at the close of schoolwhich features the introduction of the new officers, the Christmas program, and the Devils' Den dances.
