'iii CLASS During this second year at Collins, the Sopho- mores have actively participated in many clubs, committees, and events. The Sophomores were represented on the Stu- dent Council with three members, sent a dele- gate to the Fayette County Student Council con- vention, and to the Southeastern District Con- vention, and they also were represented at the State Convention of Student Councils, held at .lack- son's Mills. Participating in sports, several sophomores played football and basketball. Many members of the class were active in the Glee Club, A Capella Choir, Library Staff, Girls Athletic Association, Home Economics, and Varsity Clubs, Latin Club, Log and Acorn Staffs, and the Red Devil Band. ln the annual Student Council Talent Show, many sophomores appeared. Several members ofthe class also took part in the Christmas pro- gram, poster contest which was sponsored by the RECORDS Library Staff, and some girls of the class attend- ed the annual Tri-Hi-Y Tea. Among the numerous other activities the soph- omoresparticipatedin were: one sophomore was the chairman of National Constitution Week at Collins, and one, co-chairman of the Christmas program. The sophomores were awarded for having the best attendance at varsity basketball games. On Friday, November 4, the annual Sophomore Hop was held in the Little Theater at Collins. Dancing in a drug store atmosphere was enjoyed by the students and adult sponsors who were there. The sophomores had an attendant to Miss Homecoming and Miss Red Devil. Ayearlyprojecthas been adopted by the Soph- omores. SOPHOMORES ?--Q.
