'Wa Clic Pcaplc B rand new Old Glory now wave s over Collins! lt wasatense and exciting moment when Student Council members rai s ed the new flag in place of the old one which formerly fluttered in the breeze. The new flag was presented to Collins by the Fayette County Board of Education. Thi s ceremony is only one of the n um e ro u s activities in which Collins stu d e nts participated during National Constitution Week. The list of m o m e n t o u s activities conducted by various organizations in- clude the following: The National Honor Society placed a large poster on the b ulle ti n board in the central hallg the Tri-Hi -Y conducted daily readings on patriotism over the public address sys- temg the LOG printed aninspiring article about the proper loyalty and respect for our flag, and the Daughters of the Amer- ican Revolution's Oak Hill Chapter fur- nished all ofthe necessary data for or- g ani zi ng and conducting a successful campaign during this memorable week. This brief ceremony was in keeping with the b u s i ne s s meeting and picnic that took place before school started. The members of the council, by taking the oath, affirmed themselves to fulfill all responsibilities connected with their respective offices.
