An eighth grader won the Iunior High and Fayette County Spelling Championships, and was one of the top tour contestants in the Daily Mail Spelldown at Charleston. An eighth grader was a semi-finalist in the Iunior High Marble Tournament. Two eighth graders won second place in the Iunior High Talent Show. Several eighth graders won honors in the Iunior High Popularity Contest. Seven eighth graders were Iunior Hi-Teens: several were Student Standouts.
