To the Class of 1941: The greatest responsibility of this generation is that of keeping aglow in the world the flick- ering Iight of democracy. To do this, moral and spiritual forces must go forward at double-quick time to catch up with the inventive games of man. You have seen in your generation the pro- duction of machines destined to usher in an age of plenty-a better life for all. You have also seen the production of machines destined to destroy man. No one can predict what your part will be in America's destiny, but whatever it is will require clear thinking and courage, and a reserve of moral fortitude and spiritual stamina, To this end we trust your school, your home, and your church have contributed. Sincerely, CARL M. DIEFENBACH. CARL M. DIEFENBACH Supervising Principal HE Collingswood Board of Education holds its regular monthly meeting on the second Thursday of each month. Mr. Benson De L. Barron is president of the Board. Mrs. W. Arthur Lofft is vice-president and Mr. H. Milton Restrick is district clerk. The Board of Education carries out much of its tireless work for the Collingswood schools through committees. The Finance Committee consists of Mr. Walter Marshall, Mr. Harry Rainey, and Mrs. Harold Parker. The Athletic Committee is composed of Mr. George Bierschenk, Mr. Robert Scarborough and Mr. Herbert Schooley. Mr. Charles Reese, Mr. Harry Rainey, and Mr. Robert Scar- borough constitute the Property Committee. This year the Board suffered a great loss in the death of Mrs. Eva Kachline, who was always greatly interested in the welfare of Collingswood schools. Mrs. Kachline was a school board member for eleven years. Mrs. Har- old Parker has been elected to complete Mrs. Kachline's term.
