A S HOWARD B KEYSER Ursinus College Temple University University ot Pennsylvania OUR SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL Mr Keyser began his career at C T in 1924 when he assumed the posttion of Athletic Director and Science Teacher A graduate of Collegeville High School and Ursinus College he studied Phy slcal Education at Temple University and took graduate Work in Administra tion at the University of Pennsylvania Before coming to C T Mr Keyser had taught in New Iersey and Pennsylvania at West Point and Haverford Town ship ln the true professional spirit he has been active in numerous Educa of various Athletic groups Because of his line qualities of leadership and administration he was made Supervising Principal of C T in 1926 No doubt Mr Keyser has watched with keen enthusiasm the growth and de velopment of C T for which he has been largely responsible Mrs Renmnger came to C 'I' last October to serve as Mr Keysers secretary Sh attended Williamstown High School and was graduated from Central Penn Business College at Harrisburg Mrs Henmngers pride and ioy is her little daughter Lmcla QNNE E RENNINGER B.Si tional Associations. Much time, energy, and labor have been spent working on the book. Selecting c s rings was the number one item on our . These were purchased from the Dieges and Clust Company. Giving our first dance was the biggest event of the year. Moonlight Sleighride was the theme. The dance was a success and a good time was enjoyed by all. Later in the year we had a profitable candy sale and this was followed by a bake sale which also helped increase our treasury. The following year we took another step up the ladder of life and were known to all as 'flighty luniorsf We were still under the guiding hand of Mr. Hackman and the offi- cers for the year were Bill Andes, president, Thirty-two 'Q on CLASS HISTORFQ6 Rich Leatherman, vice president, Ginny Han- nan, secretaryg and loan Ledger, the treas- urer. This was the year we received our class rings, which would thenceforth identify us as students of the Class of '54. Soon after this we held a bake sale and had a record dance. Our safe deposit box overflowed from the profits of our magazine sale. As the year progressed we gave The Sweetheart Sere- nade, the annual Valentine dance, at which time limmy Hefelfinger and lanet Snovel were crowned King and Queen. After much consideration we selected a comedy entitled Gabriel. Blow Your Horn. as our class play. The last event of this successful year was the Prom which was given in honor of the Class of '53. We have but one year ahead of us and we sincerely hope that this will be even more prosperous and enjoyable than our previous years. It was our first year in the Senior High division and we were all determined to make it a successful one. During the first few weeks, under the able guidance of Mr. Steinbach, we began to get organized. We elected as our leaders: Pres- ident-Alfred Rosser, Vice President-Wil liam Hales, Secretary f Beverly Robbins, Treasurer-Sylvia Ruth. We were soon to find that we couldn't have made a better choice. Our first real project was our dance, Star- dust, which Buddy Brode from WNAR en- tertained with request records and chatter, - ff -tc. was held on Ianuary 24, with great success, both financial and social. Pleased with the success of our first venture we started out on our second with high hopes. We were re- warded for our efforts with wonderful results from our candy sale. It was better than we had ever hoped it could be and gave extra work to our treasurer, Sylvia Ruth. ln March we had our fingers measured for the class rings we had chosen earlier in the year. They are to be delivered early next year when we will return to school no longer as Sophornoresg but as eager luniors, anx- ious to make our Iunior year as much of a success as our previous one. Sept. 25 Spring City-away C.T.-l Spring City-0 The team had a very good day. Teamwork, as well as determina- tion, was quite obvious against formidable opponents. Luck was with C-T, when an opponent fell while attempting for a sure goal. Sept. 30 Schwenksville-home C.'l'.-3 Schwenlrsville-l Because of bleachers erected on the hockey field, C-T, played a dusty game on the football field. Despite the dust storms and clouds C-T chalked up their third win. Oct. 8 North Conventry-home C.T.-l Norco-1 Plgain meeting a team on the football field seemed detrimental to the team because C-T could only tie Norco which put a dent in their winning streak. Oct. 16 Royersford-away C.'l'.-2 Royersford-1 C-T's spirits were high when the team traveled to Royersford, but they were even higher after the victory, especially over such a strong rival. Oct. 23 Boyertown-away C.'l'.-0 Boyertown-2 Even though the game was officiated by C-T's former girl's coach, Kay Margerum, C-T felt their first defeat at the hands of Boyer- town. But C-T still had a chance at the championship. Oct. 29 Phoenixville-away C.T.--4 Phoenixville-1 ln the bitter cold of that afternoon C-T won a scrimmage game with Phoenixville. Nov. 6 Upper Perkiomen-home C.T.-l Upper Perk.-4 C-T accepted their second loss on this day and with it the hopes of the championship. They had to be contented with a second place tie.
