KRUG ' To the Class of 1949: As you commence your post-high school activities you may look back upon your days at Collegeville-Trappe with pleasure in reminiscence and pride in accomplishment. This book should perpetuate for you memories of educational opportunities used to good advantage. However, in addition to general knowledge and certain specific skills which he must possess, the truly educated person must also attain a sense of service, justice, morality, duty, and truth. He must learn to value honesty above all else. He must value honesty to himself, to his fellows, and to his God, not only because it is the best policy, but because it is right. Knowledge without goodness is dangerous, goodness without knowl- edge is useless. You have my most sincere good wishes for a future blessed with knowledge and tempered by goodness. LOUIS A.
