Row ONE-Gladys Miller, Ruth Detwller, Lucille Fox, Doris Miller. We had four memorable. years in good old C-T. The high spots-our Sophomore Winterwhirl, the Junior Prom, the Senior Ball-won't be forgotten in a hurry. In this picture we make our last group appearance--the Class of '46. Page twenty-three THE CLASS OF '46, about to be graduated, looks back to the year 1943, when our class was just starting. With the beginning of the Sophomore year, our class was well organized with Miss Carolyn Swartley as advisor and Henry Mathieu as President. That year we gave an assembly program in the form of a Minstrel Show, but our main feature of the year was a dance, l'The Winter Whirl , which proved highly suc- cessful. Due to the loss of our class advisor, Miss Swartley, we began our Junior year with the election of Mrs. Marie Heller as class advisor and Bertram Rabuck as President. Qur activities that year included a War Bond Dance, Valentine Dance, and the biggest event of all, The Junior-Senior Prom. L X- We started our Senior year with Mrs. Heller as ad- visor: Henry Mathieu as President: Harry Harrington, Vice President: Kathleen Taylor, Secretary: Lois Cox, Treasurer. This year was mainly devoted to making money by the selling of magazines, a food sale, Senior Ball, Dungaree Dance, Cake Sale, Senior Class Play, and a Come-As- You-Are Dance. The money was earned in order to produce a Yearbook. We ended our last and busiest year with Class Night and the Commencement Ceremony, and said goodbye to Collegeville-Trappe. Prophecy tx 'tl lg 0 m Imagine'-1956! It seems hardly possible that just ten years ago we were an ambitious UQ class back in good old Collegeville-Trappe High School! Now we're sprinkled all over the world, and believe it or not some of us really turned out to be somethin'. Suppose we start with our real celebrities. Remember Cathy Hunsicker, Libby Hankins, and Doris Miller? Well, they're artists now and making millions. Cathy, doing sketches for magazine covers. Libby, making lovely oil paintings and, by the way. getting fabulous prices for them, and Doris, who has a wonderful job with a well known magazine, drawing lovely girls who are draped all over the pages. Eugene Bechtel and Sam Miller are both playing in popular orchestras, but on the side Gene goes around painting well known personalities, while Sam has a farm to come home to. tHe still hasn't made up his mind if it's the girl from Chester or Lansdalel. A few of us are settled down and happily married. Lucille Fox and Henrietta House are two of our house- wives. The last time we heard, Lucille was living up in Maine and also had three children, while Henrietta still lives in Pennsylvania and has Hve children. lSounds like they're having a racellll One male member of our class finally got roped in too. but we aren't surprised considering it's Bert Ra- buck. He and his ever lovin' spouse are the proud parents of twin boys. We always knew Bert would be original. Mary Lou Crist really did her marriage up right. Her husband is Steven Van Heusen the 3rd or something like that. Anyway he has oodles of money and Lou is living in style. Her parties are as famous as Louella Parson's. Gladys Miller. Mary Jones, and Pauline Blake are all nurses. Glady always was our scholar and she fairly breezed right through nursing school. It's rumored she'll give up nursing soon for a more domestic iob. Of course we all knew Mary would be good as a nurse and she is, A very famous doctor employed her as his special assistant, but like Gladys, Mary has other things on her mind. Polly has been married for 4 years. Our class produced six secretaries. Dolores McNelly and Betty Hartley have jobs with an established firm in Boston: while Edie Kessler is secretary to a very hand- some actor whose name is Van Johnson. Ruth Detwiler, Kay Taylor. and Lea Famous work together for three prominent lawyers in Philadelphia. They take dictation, write letters, sit on the bosses' knees, etc. l Page twenty-six Page twenty-seven We also have a New York representative. After Jeanne McFarland left C-T she went to textile school and now has a positi n as a buyer of gowns in a ritzy N. Y. store. fShe stilflhas a weekly visitor from Eaglevillel. Then there's .lean Levengood who's modeling for an exclusive dress store in Miami, Florida. She's married to the famous movie actor, Erral Fin. Speaking of New York, Mary Palmer is now singing with the Metropolitan Opera Company. She has just com- pleted a tour of the U. S. and is thinking of retiring. Lois Cox also toured the U. S.. but not with an opera company. She inherited millions and at the moment is stopping over in Paris. France, before continuing her travels. tShe was always good at saying ou, la la !lJ Dick Hoyer, the Jr's dream man, turned out to be an explorer. He's been all over the world trying to End A Paradise For Men . His admirers keep following him around tho! Bob Wildman is still working in Undercoffler's Garage and he has worked his way up to super mechanic. We had one chemistry GENIUS in our class and you all know who that was-Rita McManus. She's teaching it now at a private school for boys-and 'tis rumored she is wonderful at balancing equations . The Navy has claimed one of our men -Bill Brown. He's radio operator on the U.S.S. Mal de Mer . Don- ald Risher is also on the U.S.S. Mal de Mer . but as a passenger ? This is only the twelfth ship he's stowed away on so far, as he used to prefer trains. Yes sir, Rish is determined to see the world!! Then you all re- member Willie Davis, don't you? Well, he's a very im- portant admiral in the U. S. Navy. That V-5 training did some good. Yes sir-Salty Davis! We have two engineers in our group-Henry Mathieu Jr and Bob Halteman. They're still bachelors because E-hey devote so much time to their work-Uoke-Ha! a.J Another one of our boys in the service tArmyJ is Bob Felton. He's over in Japan, taking charge of an im- portant reconstruction job. Speaking of bosses, Francis Robbins and Harry Har- rington are two very prominent business men. Francis owns a large helicopter factory and Harry is president of a baby coach concern. It seems business gets better every year. Francis has been married for some time, but Harry is just celebrating his lst wedding anniversary. Last of our clan, but certainly not least, is Bob Ziegler alias Frank Bingston Swoonatra. He's singing over station C-T H. S. every Monday night and his popularity grows with sharp and FLAT.
