These computers influence student life in areas such as registration, billing and utilization of the library. Despite the invasion of these machines, we have not lost sight of the truth . . . the machine is only as good as the human element which programs it. Within our college community there is a woman who has been instrumental in bringing about many facets of change, development and growth. However, she is also cognizant of the need to retain and expand upon the humanistic environment which is prevelant and valued in the CNR community. In her dealings with many members of this community, she exemplifies the spirit of compassion and concern and demonstrates a sincere respect for individuality. She masterfully achieves a careful balance between the romanticism of the past and the reality of the future. We therefore proudly devote the efforts of these pages to Clare M. Though my feelings were different a year ago, or ten years ago, part of the difference was you. Because of you I was a different person, and the person that I grew to be, with or without you by my side, had gotten there partly because of you. If you had not been in my life, I could not have been who I was. Nor would I have grown in exactly the same way. Much of what I grew toward, and changed within myself, had to do with what I responded to in you, what I learned from you, What I understood about myself through you, and what I learned about my feelings in our relationship. I never worried about our “future together”, since we had already touched each other and could never be totally removed from each other’s thoughts. A part of me would always be you, and a part of you would always be me.
