The opening ceremony tor the Student Center was held February I5 with Vernon Gattner, Trumpeteer, Myke Huntley, ASCI Financial Secretary. Judy Lipscomb, ASCI Vice-President, Felicia Jolley, ASCI Secretary. and Don McMiIlen, ASCI President taking part in the ceremony. Student Center For many years the students on the College ot Idaho Campus have waited tor a Student Center and tinally in I957 the planning tor the Student Center began. The actual construction did not begin until September. I958, but once the building started going up it wasn't long betore it was completed. The otticial opening was on February I5. I959. with the Grand Opening held on March I5. The tirst major tunction held in the Student Center was the Inaugural Ball, February 28. Included in the Student Center are the tollowing: The Den, selt-service bookstore, Coyote and Trail ottice, ASCI government room, nurse's ottice, lounge, cafeteria and a large room which can be used tor dances or partitioned ott tor meeting rooms.
