Four years. From walking alone down Yates path. In your duo cap. To walking across the speaker's platform. In your mor- tar board. Studying you have to do on your own. Tests no one can take for you. Papers you sit up to write while everybody else is sleeping. A hand- shake from President Paschall. And a diploma. Parties where you really haven't planned on drinking much. Sitting around late Saturday nights, talking about great dates. Or lousy ones. Trying to sing along with the band at a dance when they keep on changing the words. The choir har- monizing bar after bar of the William and Mary l-lymn. And it's over. S
