The Anniversary Convocation began with reading from the Royal Charter. Dr. Harold L. Fowler Anthony H. Packe, Master of the Ancient Company of Drapers, brought greetings from the Drapers ' Company of London plus a ster- ling silver candelabra. Dr Joseph Curtis read the Royal Proclamation. Members of the Queen ' s Guard help display the sterling silver can- delabra presented to the College on its Anniversary by the Drapers ' Company. Sir Patrick Henry Dean, Her Britannic Majesty ' s Ambassador to the United States, addressed the Assembly. The contribution of the Choir was selections from Ode lo the Virginian Voyage. 21

Vernon L. Nunn, Treasurer-Auditor of the College, receives the Thomas Jefferson Award. W. Brooks George, Rector of the Board of Visitors, awards Hugh Williams Farmar, Clerk to the Drapers ' Company an honorary doc- tor of laws degree. Sir Patrick Henry Dean, Her Britannic Majesty ' s Ambassador to the United States, is awarded an honorary doctor of laws degree. Lord Bishop Robert Wright Stopford of London receives an honorary doctor of divinity degree. 23
