On February 18 of this year, President Taylor presented a microbook reader to the Idaho State School for the Deaf and Blind at Gooding. The reader makes available any of the 20,000 volumes in the C.S.I. microfilm library. Attending the occasion were IFROM LEFTJ Edward Reay, director of the state school, Dr. james L. Taylor, Virginia Bright, library assistant at C.S.I., and Paul Bird, assistant superintendent at the Gooding facility, LIBRARIES AND LEARNING MATERIAL RESOURCES CENTER At the end of the 1972 school year C.S.I. will have completed its seventh year of operation. However, under the guidance of Dr. Bruce Harrison, the school's library now holds 100,000 volumes-the largest junior college in California with more than 20,000 students has a book count of 90,000 volumes. - A credit to C.S.I.'s library is the large number of current periodicals made available to the students: one of the most popu- lar services of the library is the periodical section with its comfortable, relaxing furnishings. Another rapidly expanding facet of the Resource Center is its collection of audio-visual materials, and in particular, the dial retrieval system. At present, entire courses are being taught through this system. Therefore, it is with gratitude that the 1972 TALON congratulates the library staff and its director on a most formidable, well done job. 71
