M.I. Adkinson Peggy Stanfield Marilyn Blackburn Leta Obray Judith Roberts The Associate Degree Nursing Program at CSI. is a new program on campus. The first nursing classes began in September of 1971. The first group now con- sists of 32 eager women who desire to serve their fellow men. The nursing program is five semesters in length. Upon completion of the pro- gram the students are elegible to take the State License Exam to become registered nurses. The students spend about half their time on campus in academic classes and the other half in hospital practice with patients. Their clinical practice is at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital, Twin Falls Clinic and Hospital, St. Benedicts and Cas- sia Memorial Hospitals. The students wear a uniform consisting of gold slacks with white tunic tops: their cap was designed by one of the students. Many of the traditions of the nursing program are being developed by this first group of talented students. 132
