The academic year 1971-72 has been characterized by continual development in the academic programs of the College. In attempting to provide the best pos- sible educational experiences for students, a number of new programs and tech- niques have been implemented. An associate-degree registered nurse program was started in September with an initial enrollment of forty. This coming year will see the enrollment of a second class in this program. A therapy technician program was initiated this year and approximately twenty- five students are working in such diverse areas as the Child Development Center, Department of Public Assistance, juvenile court and parole office, and Public Health Office. Students have a real opportunity to get involved in helping relationships in this program. Curriculum development is a continual process at the College. The Business department was completely reorganized this past year and will be much more responsive to student needs. Programmed courses have been introduced in sev- eral areas and the entire faculty is revising course outlines. The thrust of the program is to provide a useful, relevant educational experience for all students. Dr. Smith's message for the Talon February 9, 1972 8
