COS Language de- partment ollers French, German and Spanish, both in the regu- lar day school and also at night, Emphasis in all three is upon the ability to carry on conversation in the second language, and to think clearly in it. After beginning courses are passed, advanced courses offer culture and customs. Movies, newspa- pers and records also add incentives to learning.

Consisting of biology, botany, anatomy and Zoology, chemistry, physics, geology, and meteorology, the science curriculum has shown a constant increase in the num- ber of students interested in the various courses, So great has been the increase that, in the long range building plans for COS, a new science wing is assured.

This ability can be carried over to other phases of lite, providing its possessor with a valu- able skill. The COS mathematics department offers classes in algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry and slide rule, in addition to business mathematics for commercial students.
