Polly Wilhelrnsen With just the right combination of height, speed and reserve power, the l952-53 COS Giant basketball team won the Cali- fornia State Iunior College basketball championship at the tourney in Long Beach. Because of illness and injury, the Giants got off to ct slow start, but rolled through their last twelve games scoring over 80 points in each. Buster Burgos was named team captain for the season. At the tournament's conclusion he and Lee Hansen were named to the All-State team and Burgos was named Most Valuable Player. A -Y - ---Y-W - - -Y -Al
