:itil Miss Ada .Beveridge guided this sophomore class through its many activities as she- hasclone with many other sophomore classes in the past. Joe Champion was chosen by the January gradu- ates to represent them in Ex'Council and to plan their mid-year activities. Ferry Hartman represented the June graduates and helped plan events that will make their graduation more memorable. ' Svpfw gm ' Twoiyears is a short time tor a graduating class to be together and to know each other. but the very problem ot brevity ot acguaintanceship has proved a stimulus tor students at San Mateo to make triends with each other and to share together the grind ot daily homework and the caretree tun ot weekends. The present sophomore class shared its tirst year together' in the cramped. tradition-tilled halls ot the old Baldwin campus, and came to love and respect it as the days passed. It was there that they saw term plays- Over Zi and Our Town g it was there that they entered into the enthusiastic campaigns ot Johnny Wrentmore and Jack Swaryckg it was there that they bought books and equipment in Wini's crowded little ottice, and iiwas there that they toiled in the library betore midterms and tinals. The move to Coyote Point confused them tor awhile. They didn't see each other quite so otten, and were distressed with this situation at tirst. Gradually they got used to catching the right busses, getting to and trom classes without the assistance ot bells, tramping trom building to building in the rain, and tinding there was something about a sprawling point ot land which became amazingly beautitul with the onrush ot spring. Now that they are leaving the commuting student body, their eyes and minds are turned ahead to upper division study or to their respec- tive careers. And the chances are great that they, as their thousands ot precedessors, will not soon torget their two years at San Mateo Junior College. E A s f Xa.f 5 I sM,IiIsnnr.
