Well, after talking to the other members of the committee I found them at as much a loss as I as to where one should even start to begin to write a prophecy. So, after a few weeks of pondering the subject I returned home, no more the wiser. Still wondering I dropped into bed and was soon fast asleep. Just then a funny thing happened. I started to dream, not that dreaming is funny, but the way I dreamed. It seemed ever- thing was going away up, up to the year l96l. At first it was all just a little hazy like a television set that wnsn't tuned in just right, but it soon cleared and I saw these things. First, I saw Forrest Yancey. No, Forrest didn't go to Hollywood and replace Clark Gable, as some thought. But inste d is busily at work at his L00 acre farm near Pittsville. Yes, Forrest is still a happy bachelor. But before we leave the Yancey farm. Why it looks, why yes it is. A home for elderly unmarried women, and I believe it says just above the door H HIGH- LAND AND HARTH INCORPORATED. Yes, it seems that Celesta and Mary since they couldn't have Forrest wouldn't have anyone and have become two old maids, still hoping Forrest might someday change his mind about one or the other of them. Next, I saw Juanita Colster, she always was the only one of the whole class that had a surplus of brains. Well, it seems that she has now become the Nwoman of the Centuryn, replacing Einstein who retired last year when Juanita started giving him so much competition. He said figuring out the theory of the Atomic bomb was peanuts to trying to figure out how to outsmart Colster. Then I saw Joan Markley who has now become the English supervisor of College High School. Yes, Miss Fitzgerald retired last year in the year 1960 Now our scene shifts to the Warrensburg hospital where Schooley D. Wilcoxen M. D. and his head nurses, Dorothy Gudde, and Martha Tempel are engaged in performing a very delicate operation. It seems that Mrs. Cleo Burgard fthe former Doris McBurneyJ suffered a concussion when her husband hit her on , the head with a biscuit she had just baked. Last report she was coming along nicel . y Janie Scott now owns a fashionable dude ranch in Colorado. She specializes in teaching dudes to ride horses. Her latest pupil is Mary Ford, the new multimillionare. It seems Mary was out walking in her yard one day, when she accidently stepped in a little puddle of water, and what do you know, up popped a gusher, an oil well, of course. Eugene Jaeger and June Poort are now head escorts of the Nwill Go with Anything for a Price, Date BureauU. They usually live up to their name. I next saw Don Pryor who has become a radio and TV technician. I surely wished he had been around when this next dream came in for I saw John Himes as a happily married father with lb kids. But the part about his wife was just a little hazy and I never could quite make out just who she was. Jackie Lawson and Joan Sproat are writing a book entitled NHow to Win Friends and Influence College Menu. It no doubt will be a best seller among the C. H. S. girls. Rex Van Blarcum and Marion Clear have now become veterinarians. We always knew all their Nhorsingn around in Agriculture would lead them to something like that.
