Dieterich and Mr. Ziegler greeted us and then handed us over to Miss Halley. She guided us and helped us through that eventful year. The officers for the Freshman were: President, Elsie Synderg Vice President, Otis Boothg Secretary and Treasurer, Audrey Porterg and sponsor Wendell Culp. as time elapsed We develpned into wise sophomores. We met Mr. Dieterich and he guided and sunervised us through another successful year. We were a small but mighty class. We were a fine group or Juniors even though Mr. Dieterich did get angry at us at times. To make things right we entertained the seniors with a banquet. We were not very many in number, but we made quite a showing. The following were elected as class officers: President, Miriam.Martin, Vice President, Opal Miller, Secretary, Hershal Jenningsg and Treasurer Loraine Conrad. Marie Larson and Kenneth Leeson were elected sponsors. Opal Miller was our class Queen. We were green but you would never know it now. We are dignified Sophomores, twenty-three in number. We have not increased greatly in number but feel that we have intelligence. This year most of the old faces were back again and many new ones. Dear to us is the memory of Opal Miller who died at the beginning of our Sophomore year. She was one of the leading members of the class and an excellent student., This year our class officers ere: President, Harold Martin, Vice President, Dale Swearingeng Secretary and Treasurer, Opal Miller succeeded by Marjorie Partridgeg Reporter, John Arthurg Sponsors, Eudora Smith and Junior Rowan. The class queen is Pauline Hayden. There the squad received much in- formation and experience from the five debates in which they took part, the judges criticisms, and talks given at the de- bate conference held in,the Baptist Church. The Freshman girls were old aprons and green hair ribbons. The boys wore overalls and green neckties. The entertainment consist- ed of dart baseball, dancing, golf contest, playground baseball and a stunt by the Freshman class. In the dart baseball game the Seniors beat the Juniors and the Soph- omores beat the Freshman. Refreshments of candy bars and apnles were served. The Freshman had to bob their f heads in tubs of water to get their apples. College Hi was weak in the field. We did not take a first in the field. On April 21, College Hi competed in the county track meet at Skidmore. Graham, Ravenwood, clear- mont, Barnard, College Hi, and Skidmore took part. College Hi won the track meet with 59715 points with. Skidmore running second with 51 points. College Hi won seven firsts and lost four. Along with the tro phy for winning team we won the cup for' relay and captured ten ribbons.
