The Cats stopped the Kansans 45-T. SEASON SUMMARY College-High Schools 1954 Wildcat grid machine under the coaching of Burl Stidham. Bailey Ricketts. Bill Holbrook and L. E. tflooterl Brewer ground out one of the best season records ever recorded by a College-High eleven. The Cats ended the season as the seventh ranking team in the state and a third place position in the always tough Oklahoma Six Conference. In addition. two Wildcat gridsters were named All-State. Bobby Green was named All-State halfback while Kenneth Fitch was named All-State tackle. Just for the record here are the scores of games played during the 1954 season. The Cats dedicated a new half-million dollar stadium with a 23-T victory over the Dewey Bulldogs on Custer Field. They returned from the first con- ference game with a 33-0 win over the Tulsa Central Braves. Stillwater was the third team to feel the wrath of the Wlildcats as they went down 32-0 while Musk0gee's high riding green-clad Roughers spoiled the Cat's victory string by taking a hard fought conference battle 45-32. Recovering from the Muskogee defeat the Cats met Coffey- ville's Colden Tornados in an intersectional tilt which saw them humble the Kansans 45-T. Sapulpa fell victim to a potent Cat attack 2-1--13 while Tulsa Wehster's hapless Wlarriors took a 33-0 loss. Ukniulgee ended up on the short end of the scoring to fall 32-T. A potent Tulsa Rogers eleven invaded Custer Field to provide plenty of opposi- tion to bounce the Cats 25-19 in the final thirty seconds of play. The final game of the season saw the Cats whip Sand Springs 23-6. 'lv .- j ' may 3 ', , 7. 14 A .,, Q ..M!, fa WN f., fur' ., .uf 21- e' -f , 1 , . Bartlesville Sapulpa ., , Bartlesville Okmulgee , , College-High School's 1955 edition of the Wildcat basketball team broke a scoring record and saw its individual squad members receive state-wide attention while win- ning 15 games and dropping four. The Wildcats opened the season in December against Nowata with a 62-47 win and followed with a 78-39 victory over their old rivals. the Dewey Bulldogs. December 14 the Cats journeyed north to Coffeyville where they received the first setback of the season when the Tornados handed them a sting- ing 71-54 defeat. To make up for the loss the College-High squad crossed the Caney to meet the Bulldogs on their home court where they walloped the Dewey team 92-62 to score the most points ever made by a Rickettis coached team. Following the Dewey tussle they met the Ironmen of Nowata to take a 67-58 decision in preparation for their first conference test with Muskogee January 4. Following the Christmas vacation the Cats met the Roughers in Muskogee to win their first conference battle,55-38. De- spite alert offensive and defensive play at Sand Springs the old jinx caught up with the Cats as the Sandites came from behind in the last half to take a 73-61 victory. The Wildcats vaulted back into the win column by belting Tulsa Webster in a close one -M 42-37. In quick succession they stopped Okmulgee 87-473 Tulsa Central 82-52? Tulsa Rogers 59-453 Sapulpa 49-343 Muskogee 69-533 Tulsa Central 73-60. The fol- lowing two games proved to be the downfall of Cat hopes in the tough Oklahoma Six conference as they dropped games to Sand Springs 55-60 and Tulsa Rogers 40-74. The local team maintained a third place spot in the conference by winding up the season with an 84-48 win over Sapulpa and a 84-52 win over Okmulgee. W 1 1 'J 'T 4 Q 4 Rf ,ff 1 t on e v l' f i ,.
