Mr. Walter Davis, of Midland, Texas, gave 315,000 endowment to the college and asked that the library be named in honor of Mrs. Willie Whitehurst, former sixth grade teacher at Sheep-Harney School. The library, which is constantly expanding to meet rising student enrollment, now has 11, 289 books for use and is expected to have over 12, OOO by the end ofthe year. Also included in the library are 141 filmstrips, 85 recordsfmusic, drama and languagej, and 145 periodicals. The college library is headed by Miss I-Iortense Boomer, who is assisted by a staff of library assistants.
