FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENTS 'fr i,...,,.,. I ,J--'tt' CARL MICHAEL FRANZEN During my very first wonderful day in America, I decided that this was the place where anything could happen. As time passed on, every day has only corroborated this idea and today, graduation day, I would not have been the least surprised had I found a giraffe in our garden or even a donkey. This has been and probably will be one of the happiest years in my lifeg it has been wonderful to find friends and freedom waiting' in Colfax after having traveled around half of the world. One of the most important things I will take back with me to Lundsbergs Skola in Sweden is the knowledge that America is not merely an interesting place on a map, but veraciously a real country filled with really wonderful people. GEORG I-IEIDENREICH When I first arrived, I couldn't imagine what all waited on me in school and at home. But I had so many pleasant experiences that I can say this was the most rewarding year in all my life. The first weeks in school I was quite con- fused. I still lived in German thoughts, language, and habits. All ,through this time the teachers and students helped me much to get on my own feet, so to speak. To my surprise, I came to enjoy school and to be happy. Gver in Europe there is a lot of competition that makes school much more difficult, All the time I have been here, I madea number of friends whom I will miss very much when I go back home. It's my greatest hope to come back sometime, perhaps to study or, maybe, to live here forever.
