Rhiny Gross, George Earnest, Earl Pierson. They work for the good of all. On March 30, 1951, the plan for one grade school on the Morton Street site passed by the large majority of almost three to one. lt is hoped that the school will be ready for use by September of 1952. The present school board has worked very hard and heartiest congratulations go to such a hard working body for the swell job they've done. Eight SUPERINTENDENT It is my desire that education will be a continuing process with every student of Colfax High School. Education should not be neglected after gradua- tion, but should be ardently pursued throughout life. Standing, left to right: Donna Wise, Mr. Taylor, Shirley Weitz, Jerry Gilchrist, Ben Stueckle, Lillie Cooley, Harry Brownell, Peggy Nelson. Ann Trombetto, Nan Nelson. The vice president who presides over the student council this year is Bruce Boldt. The other members of the council are the president, secretary, program chairman, two council members at large, two class representatives, and three yell leaders. During the year the council accomplished much. They purchased several waste baskets and placed them around in the halls, they presented the yell leaders with small megaphones, and sold hotdogs at the District Basketball Tournament. Their latest project is the permanent meeting room for the group. The entire student council wishes to thank the students for their fine co- operation and support during the year. Twelve YELL LEADERS Left to right: Bonnie Ackerman. Shirley Weitz. Donna Wise. With the help of the student body, these girls have spurred our football and basketball teams on to many victories. They have worked hard to keep the en- thusiasm of C. H. S. at its peak and so, congratulations, girls, for your very fine work. Their active leadership and contagious enthusiasm contributed to the color and spirit of every contest. The two seniors, Shirley Weitz and Donna Wise, have served as yell leaders for three of their four years in C. H. S. When they leave high school, they will be missed by everyone. The present class of 1951 entered Colfax High School in the fall of 1947. ln the be- ginning of our Freshman year. we were given a Senior-Frosh show and a Sophomore-Frosh party. During our Sophomore year, we gave the Freshmen a party and had several of our own. Our Junior year was, also. an active one. Some of the outstanding things we put on were. a very successful prom, Stardust, and last of all a Junior-Senior banquet. After three long years, we became mighty Seniorsg but before we left, we gave the Frosh a party and presented our successful Senior Ball, Dreams. Then, at last. came Graduation: and so we leave this dear old school to establish our places in the world. Sixteen IORS SHIRLEY ANN AESCHLIMAN Girls' Fed., 1, 2, 3, 43 Girls' Fed. Playing more games this year has helped to develop the team and promote interest in the sport. This year's team, though short in experience, made up for it with their fighting spirit and aggressive hustle and has shown great improvement over the first year of baseball. After copping the Whitman County Eastern Divisional Championship by winning five straight games in the league, the boys are to be highly congratulated on their splendid showing and fine spirit. 1950 Season Schedule Colfax ........., 5 Pullman .......... 4 Colfax .....,.... 4 St. John ..
