Naizitzziea The extra-curricular program and the club a ct i vi ti e s available in Coleman High School offer many valuable benefits to the student. They present an excellent op- portunity for the enrichment of moral and spiritual values and for the acquisition of a well-rounded personality. Unlike the school curriculum of several decades ago which stressed only the Three R's , the extra-curricular program offered today provides worthwhile activities that appeal to many students and create an interest in all types of learning. There are thirteen organizations, and many ext:ra-curri- cular subjects in C.H.S. providing enrichment, offering useful information in fields of special interests, aiding in developing social graces, and offering spiritual growth. Some of the highlights of the year's activities were the Science Fair, the F.T.A. Slave Sale, F.F.A. livestock Show, the F.H.A. Mother-Daughter Banquet, the Student Council Exchange with Ballinger, the N.H.S. trip, the Band contests, the many issues of the Round-Up, the religious programs, Career Day, and many, many others which helped to make this a memorable year in Cole- man High School.

Aw .044 . Once again as school begins and the class schedules are organized, students assemble in the rec hall -- a familiar scene around C.H.S. Religious activities play an important role in the lives of the students. The Student Council and Christian Coimcil are responsible for these activities. The cheerleaders and student body help create enthusiasm and fill the boys with confidence before the big rival game with Ballinger. The speech class arouse the true spirit of Christmas by presenting an effective program to the students. SNOW! -- The first snow in years brought its pleasures and discomforts. A change in the weather seemed to February brought the election of the Student Council officers with the pres- entation of many cute stunts. Public Education Week was observed by various activities. Open House was held in the schools, and special pro- grams were presented to civic groups. One of the most enjoyable events was a band program presented by Mr. Raymond Rike and the C.H.S. band. Among other festivities such as Career Day and Interscholastic League, one of the highlights of the year is the pres- entation of the senior play. As the end of another school year ap- proaches, the seniors soon find them- selves robed in their caps and gowns and re ceiving their diplomas much sooner than expected. put new life in the students -- exam- ple shown! .
