The Coleman Chapter is indeed proud of the fact that one of its members - Corky Chapman - was awarded the American Farmer Degree, the highest award offered by the National Association of Future Farmers of America. Only one F. F. A. member in every 1,000 is eligible for this degree. Living and working on a Coleman County farm in the midst of a prolonged drouth which curtailed many of his nor- mal operations, Corky not only attained his degree in 1953 but also was named the top American Farm- er of Texas. Chapter Fe ed Barn The Coleman Chapter is one of the few in the state owning its own feed barn where each year approximately 73 lambs are fed out. The feeding project is operated on a co-operative basis , with the boys sharing the cost of the feed and the work involved.
