THIS WAS THE YEAR THIS WAS THE YEAR: When the school enrollment figure rose to 60 per cent Anglo students and dropped to 40 per cent minority students. When the student body put it altogether, When the Student Council boasted of two head girls and two head boys. The girls were Deborah Halboth and Arnetta Claytorne. The boys were Calvin Whisenton and Ray Hines. When the Ninth Grade sponsored a Make an Opposite Friend Contest. When the students had an opportunity to see the film Those Were the Days, depicting the Fifties, and a carnival was held to celebrate the occasion, and the students dressed in the Fifty attire. When Mrs. Evelyn Rice and Mrs. Patricia Taylor planned and hosted Career Day, bringing more than a hundred career people into the school, for the purpose of presenting career information to the students. There was a guest available for every class for the entire day. Dinner was served in the cafeteria, and refreshments were served throughout the day in the teacher's lounge. Among those who came were the Honorable Mayor Bill McNichols, and Mr. Omar Blair, member of the Denver School Board. When for the first time, courses in film study, yearbook publications, Greek, French, the modern novel, poetry, and creative writing were added to the curriculum, When the Instructional Materials Center expanded its faculty, and made its services available to classes throughout the day, When during the first semester fourteen buses transported Anglo students from South Denver to the school, CLASS OF '75 The Eagles to you advise Don't take no jive Keep trusting From the Class of '75, Loretta Vicks OUR YEARBOOK puts it all together
