For four years you have lived in close association with your teachers and fellow students, co-operating with them to make the work of Education a success. Let me remind you, however, that your gad- duation from high school marks only the beginning of your adult life. There is a popular illusion among some people today that the period of life devoted to education is limited to the years of adolescence In a democracy such as ours where the government is 'by the people education should continue down through the mature years of manhood and womanhood and old age if our country is to preserve the fundamental principles presented to us in the Constitution by our fore fathers Let me therefore appealto you to continue your student career interested in everything of moral social and civic importance to such ex tent that you will bring pride to your parents and family your school and the community at large wggwu 7,1 BOARD or Superintendent RAY DOBMEYER ' President RALPH WENNING Vice President PAUL HOYNG DAVE SOWAR GEORGE BILLERMAN MAURICE FRONING tn! The adventurer is more of a guide, who is good in his own field and doesn't have to let others know it. I. -KH last summer, when the Coldwater High School Band placed third at the Mercer County Fair, it opened the music season for the forty bandsmen of C. H. S. Then on December 20, the gymnasium pro- vided the scene for its annual Christmas Concert for the student body. On February 1, nineteen of the honor students, along with other top musical talent in the county, gave the first Mercer County Honor Band Concert at the Celina High Fieldhouse. For many weeks preceding and following this concert students were practicing conscientiously for the Solo and Ensemble Contests held every year at Lima. The climax of a very successful year took place at the Coldwater High School gym during its annual Spring Concert. Moorman I. Knoth S. Chesser In 1938, the graduating class walked through the entrance of the new building which was Cold- water High School. Now, twenty years later, another class will do the same. This class of 1958 looks forward with hope to a future undreamed of by the graduates of 1938. It is our hope that in 1978, when another twenty years have gone by, there will be an even brighter future for those graduates. A world of peace and prosperity as we ourselves found it.
